Experience in CALARTS

Miss Uma is my teacher in UIC. I'm going to tell about her experience studying at California institute of Arts.
California Institute of Arts, or CALARTS for short, is an university that offers range of art majors such as design, music, theatre, dance, singing, animation, photography and more. Miss Uma took graphic design. She told us that CALARTS is already advanced when she entered, knowing a lot about design is essential. She started with a class of 22 but then down to 11(the other half left because they are overwhelmed). Research is very important and not only from internet but also from other medias. Miss Uma did her research in few libraries. Each student are required to have 500 sketches of their own ideas in a week. Students need to hang their works on the walls of the gallery and explain their works. What's great is that students get their mini studio. Instead of doing it at home, they finished their works there. Studying there sounds so though and might be overwhelming. Fortunately, there is a party held for every Thursdays to relax their minds.

It's very good to get to listen to Miss Uma's experience, because it will help me when I study abroad later. I'm also studying the same major as she have studied, so it's a good reference for me. It's fun knowing her experience.
